We never sell your data. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe. Our site analytics are cookieless and we set no tracking cookies of our own, so there is no cookie banner here. Questions? Who we are
The Cebu Retiree (“we,” “us”) publishes educational research about retiring in Cebu, Philippines. Our team lives and works in Cebu. Most of our readers are in the United States. This policy covers ceburetiree.com and the emails we send.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address. You give it to us when you take the retirement quiz, unlock the map preview, join The Cebu Letter, book a call, or buy a product. We use it to deliver exactly what you asked for and, if you signed up for it, our newsletter. Every form says what you’ll get.
- Form answers. Things like your quiz answers, or the questionnaire you fill out for a personalized plan. We use them only to build your result or your order.
- Purchase details. When you buy, our payment processor collects your name, email, and payment information. We never see or store your card number.
- Basic analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookieless: it counts visits and pages without cookies, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking, and it cannot identify you. Embedded tools on some pages — the quiz form, the booking widget, the checkout — may set their own cookies, covered by their policies below.
What we never do
- We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to brokers, not to anyone.
- We never send email you didn’t ask for — every form says what you’ll get.
- We never share your information, except with the service providers below who need it to do their jobs.
The services that help us run this site
Like most websites, we rely on a few trusted providers. Each one processes your data only to provide its service, under its own privacy policy:
- Tally — runs our forms and quizzes.
- Kit — sends our emails and manages your subscription.
- Lemon Squeezy — handles payments for digital products as our merchant of record (the legal seller named on your receipt).
- Cal.com — handles bookings for calls, with payment through PayPal.
- Cloudflare — hosts this site, routes our email, and provides the cookieless analytics described above.
Where your data lives
We operate from the Philippines. Most of our providers are US-based; Tally, which runs our forms, is based in Europe. Your data is processed and stored mainly in the United States and Europe, under those providers’ security practices.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click and you’re out.
- See, fix, or delete your data. Email us and we’ll tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it. We keep purchase records only as long as tax and accounting rules require.
A note on age
This site is written for adults planning retirement. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date below. We won’t quietly weaken your protections.
